    Welcome to Fall Protection Competent Person Awareness. This ninety-minute course explains how fall hazards are recognized, how common protection systems are selected and controlled, and where the online training boundary ends. You will complete three thirty-minute modules, answer three quiz questions after each module, and take a fifteen-question final assessment. Completion documents awareness training only. The employer remains responsible for site-specific evaluation, equipment selection, rescue planning, authorization to correct hazards, and competent-person designation.

  2. 02Systems, Equipment, Inspection, and Use Limits

    30 min

    Module two turns from role boundaries to protection systems. The focus is not memorizing equipment names. The focus is knowing when a system must be designed, inspected, installed, used, and removed from service according to employer procedures, manufacturer instructions, and the hazards of the task.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does finishing this course make someone a competent person?

No. A competent person under 29 CFR 1926.32(f) is one who can identify existing and predictable hazards and who has the employer’s authorisation to take prompt corrective measures. Training can support the first half; only the employer can grant the second. This is awareness training, not a designation.

Which standard does the content follow?

OSHA fall protection requirements for construction in 29 CFR Part 1926 Subpart M, including the general 6-foot trigger height and the duty to have fall protection in place before work begins.

Who is this course aimed at?

Supervisors, foremen and crew members who need to recognise fall hazards, understand how guardrail, safety net and personal fall arrest systems differ, and know when to stop work and escalate.

Does it cover rescue planning?

It covers why a rescue plan is needed and what prompt rescue means in practice. It does not produce your site rescue plan, select your anchorages or specify your equipment, all of which stay with the employer.

What do learners receive at the end?

A completion record naming the learner and the course, which employers keep as evidence that awareness training was delivered. It is a training record, not a certification or licence.
